I've never seen that mythic, romantic, high-memetic, low-memetic, ironic breakdown before but it's compelling and gives me food for thought.

I highly recommend the book it’s from--The Anatomy of Criticism--overall. One of the three greatest works of lit crit ever IMO.

I am curious, would you consider Calvino's Invisible Cities plotless ? Marco Polo has eminence as Genghis Kahn , but I would say, do not have messy lives -would your analysis be applicable here ?

I love Invisible Cities, but am not sure how relevant it is to this specific analysis. It’s a choice-plot novel, but not a high nor low mimetic one. I’d probably classify it as a post-modern romance, and romance has a robust tolerance for wealth/status built-in (think princesses, etc.).
