Today, my debut novel, The Portrait of a Mirror, is available wherever books are sold!
If “art, in its broadest sense, is our only real chance for apotheosis,” then this novel is mine. As of this morning, my artistic apotheosis is still TBD—but I’m nonetheless thrilled to share that you can read an excerpt from the novel in Literary Hub, and I’ll be doing several virtual events to celebrate its launch over the next couple of weeks. Please join me on June 3, June 8, and June 9!
A few other recent developments to share:
Today (June 1) is also my actual wedding anniversary (which has Caravaggian ties of its own!), and I wrote about it and The Arnolfini Portrait for Dear Reader
I also wrote a bit about the etiquette/lack thereof in The Portrait of a Mirror alongside seven other novels that subvert social norms for Electric Literature
Portrait was a Vulture Notable New Release that they said “would impress Edith Wharton herself”
The novel has also been featured on recent anticipated book lists by Lit Hub, Frolic, SheKnows, Brit + Co, and She Reads
There is no greater compliment in this world than seeing your book in it, and I hope you’ll buy a copy of The Portrait of a Mirror or borrow it from the library. I hope you’ll read it in the park or at the bar or on the train. Please share it on social media; please review it on Goodreads and especially Amazon (critical for authors!). I’m eager to know what you think! But most of all, please enjoy it. I hope you’ll love it like I do, like Narcissus loves himself.
Thank you for reading, and very best,
Natasha
